Who is IMCC Masanga?
IMCC Masanga consists of a group of medical students from the University of Århus. The group is a mix of former and future volunteers and students who are just interested in working with the project from Denmark. The medical students that go to work in Masanga must have received their bachelor´s degrees and have at least five months of clinical experience in the Danish health system, but medical students at all levels can work for the project from Denmark.
The work in Denmark consists of fundraising, planning of the overall project and future initiatives, collecting of equipment, and providing education for local staff.
The amount of time spent on the project varies and depends on which work groups one joins, but everyone is expected to at least join our monthly coordination meeting. Interested individuals are more than welcome to join our next meeting and hear more about the project and our group.

We are a non profit organization, and we have raised all the money needed for the project by ourselves. Most of the resources come from funds but we have also taken more unconventional means at hand such as joining a fleamarket, and selling food at our faculty´s bar on Friday nights.
Though we work with a very serious topic that daily claims many lives in one of the world's poorest countries, we emphasize motivation and social interaction, and we allow for the greatest possible cooperative management within the group.

It is also possible to give a donation for our work. All donations will go to Sierra Leone in full, to finance our work connected to the hospital. The volunteers pay for their own travel expenses and living costs.
